PS to the post below.  As I said, I have been working on the vineyard, you see here straw-bales, my intentions are this, I have to level my walking areas around the rows so I can pick the grapes on relatively level ground, so, since I am going to try growing strawberries in straw-bales next year, I am setting them up and I am going to grow vegetables in them until it is time to plant the strawberries in October. I have to make a couple of short rows for more grapes, and I have planted a row in the garden on the road on top of the hill. The blackberries will be by the dome. I must say, I thank God for blessing me with my sister, Barbara, and all of the other women that are helping and encouraging me to carry on with my dreams.
Amen! God bless them all and you.
I am truly blessed.  Ozarkmoma
This is on top of the hill, the road goes down into the gully where the dome is.
Well I suppose you might be wondering where or what I have been doing? I have been building trellis for grapevines in my small vineyard and trying to get clean up of the land done so I can plant my blackberry plants and gardens. This is my dear friend Barbara, she came over to help me today, and to make sure I didn't kill myself  while cutting down some big trees that were dead and a threat to the dome, and the blackberry patch, once it is planted that is, and all of any of us outside. She is sitting on the first one I cut down, and I might add, I cut it down with my saw blade on the wrong way, big DUH with that one, but my favorite saw ever did it in spite of my ignorance. In fact the tree went exactly where I wanted it to go which is a total miracle! The second tree, it was a lot bigger, and I actually put the chain on my saw the right way for it, but try as I did, it decided to fall opposite of what I wanted it to fall, but nothing was torn up from it. Then came the cherry tree, it didn't go so well.
This is the 2nd tree down, it didn't fall the way I wanted, but at least it didn't tear anything up.
Whoops, the cherry tree actually went the way I figured it would, but I really tried hard to make it go a different way, but I failed. It fell on my tub, it is still usable, but it surely has character now, I told Barbara at least I would always have a story to tell when people ask me what happened to it. :-D
It will probably look like it is smiling or something? Once I get it cleaned off, that is after I buy another new bar for my little saw that is........
Best little chain saw ever, it has really been abused by me, the cherry tree sat down on it when I went to cut the fell cut. I had to abandon the saw while running, then I realized it was not going to fall immediately I ran over and turned it off, then the tree busted and split, which is what I was trying to tell Barbara, just before I started cutting the cherry tree, that if a tree splinters and busts, that is really dangerous, but fortunately the Almighty was watching out for me. I survived and the saw can be repaired. Until the next adventure, may God bring many blessing upon you all. Ozarkmoma

Happy Dirt Day To All!! Well, after a few more set backs, I actually managed to work on the house yesterday with great success, at least to me it was. I laid the next row on the section that has the log stairs in it, I put the last log step in and another light tube. I even laid a few more buttress bags, and all the pain I am experiencing at this time, and through the night is worth it, now, if my poor old aching bones can take it and the Almighty is willing, I will get as much done today. I will try to keep you posted. God bless!! Ozarkmoma

Dirt Day 03-07-2010 Started doing repair plaster again today

Today I finally was able to work on the earth-bag house, if you are interested in seeing more pics of what I did today please visit the flickr site. I have a problem with the bags disintegrating right now since I haven't worked on the house in months, it is all going to "hello" right now, but the Almighty gave us a beautiful day today, and I was able to accomplish a great deal, well, for an old woman that is! I actually made a place to screen dirt, and did that for a while, then I started some more repair plastering, because I have done a little so far, but the plaster was freezing when I was doing it that time, so I wasn't very productive with it, but a lot better today, I used a mix of some straw, saw dust, lots of dirt, newspaper, and a thick lime water to wet it down. It is working out fairly well, and I think when I am finished with the "repair plastering" I will put some lime plaster over it. But for now, I am just wanting to repair and get back to work and try to get the house in in the dry before the next winter. OK, so that is all today, may the Almighty bless you and keep you safe.
