Happy Dirt Day To All!! Well, after a few more set backs, I actually managed to work on the house yesterday with great success, at least to me it was. I laid the next row on the section that has the log stairs in it, I put the last log step in and another light tube. I even laid a few more buttress bags, and all the pain I am experiencing at this time, and through the night is worth it, now, if my poor old aching bones can take it and the Almighty is willing, I will get as much done today. I will try to keep you posted. God bless!! Ozarkmoma

Dirt Day 05/06/2010

Sorry I missed a week, I was trying to cut down trees last week while it was cooler in hopes that the snakes would be too cold to move. I did manage to clear a little bit of the field, still have a long way to go.
Had a hard time getting myself motivated this week, but once I finally did I made good progress. The inside of the dome is completely covered with rough plaster now, and next week I will try to get at least one pod done, hopefully both of them, and then all that is left for plaster will be the rest of the outside, then I can start filling bags all of the time with plaster breaks here and there, from now on I will keep it plastered as I go.
I decided to clear out a different screening area in the dirt pile so I can move the mixer and clean up around the outside of the house some, so with the dirt I was having to move in order to do that, I filled more bags on the greenhouse room. I was not able to finish that project, about 3pm I couldn't take the heat anymore, and plus I had to take care of the animals, and get ready for work on Friday.
So, just  so you will be able to see the difference plaster can make, I took a picture of the big wall after I finished with the plaster, and you can compare with the first time I plastered it, with ' chinking ' plaster. The angles are not the same, as usual I didn't think about getting the angles the same, but it is close enough, at least you can see that it is looking better, there is still hope!!!!
That is all for this week, may God bless you all. Ozarkmoma
