Well, happy dirt day to all, my appolgies for not blogging for the last 3 or 4 weeks?!@#. There has been a lot going on, visiting grandchildren, and weekend before last Lou came with cousin Bill from Long Island, N.Y. He came just in time to miss the hurricane, and when he went home there was no damage to his home or family, thank God.So, back to the tale. They came late on Saturday night and we met and had a very nice night out at a small place in Russleville, Ar called Cagles Mill, my youngest daughter is manager there, and she, her boyfriend, and my middle daughter all joined us. Good Times! Pleasant memories.
The next morning, Lou and Bill unloaded her truck, she brought me a fancy wagon, which I immediately had to ride and have a wreck in it. She also brought me some straw and various other goodies, as Bill did. My thanks to you both!!
Althought it was very hot outside, and I was a little under the weather, we mixed a small batch of plaster, and I must say, it was not one of my better batches, no one to blame except myself, I was too ill to be working on it, I know better, but as usual, I forgot. DUH
While Lou and I applied the plaster, Bill filled more tires for me with the rocks that came out of the dirt as we screened it, they are the ones that don't have tall grass growing out of them.
After that we all got cleaned up and we took Bill to MT. Nebo, State Park, this is a picture of someones pets up there, they hang out in peoples yards.
The next day we loaded up and went to Blanchard Springs, this is out side the caves, we took both tours, very fascinating.
This little bat is one of the residents of the caves, they are actually very friendly.
The next day, Lou had to head home, and I had to go to work that evening, but before I went, I took Bill onto Mt. Petit Jean, showed him what is thought to be her grave, and a few other sites, we could have spent a lot of time up there exploring, I would like to go to the bottom of the falls, but that will have to wait till next time. Above is a picture of Bill standing on a big rock inside one of the caves up there.
Finally we are to Labor Day weekend. Friday I went and picked up a few grandchildren, brought them home, fed them and put them to bed. Got them up early the next morning and we went to Church, then we went to the motel where my daughter works, she got us a discount and we stayed there that night and swam, and also swam the next day, they really enjoyed it.
Then sadly I had to take them back to their parents. The next day which was Monday, I had to get caught up on laundry and such, then I made a load of plaster, and it was really a good mix.
I had to cover this.
Which looks like this now, I had to put the plaster on thick, so it didn 't go as far as I wanted.
I also need to cover this, but didn't have enough to finish it. It was almost dark by the time I took the after pics. I hope that you can see what it looks like well enough.
This is how it looks now, the shiny thing is the end of a jar. Hopefully I will be able to get a lot done this month, as October will be a busy month. Until next time, I hope you all have a happy week, God bless. Ozarkmoma
