Happy dirt day to all. I hope everyone is doing well, it seems the weather, and other things, like economy, and such are playing havoc with the people of our nation.
You might have noticed, that I have not worked on the house since my sister was here. Partly due to weather, well, a lot to do with weather, it has been raining a lot here, and it is unseasonably cold. It is too wet to use my truck to take my logs to the house, and cold enough that I am spending a good part of my time trying to keep enough wood brought up to the house and put in the stove to try to stay warm, and I mean try, the mobile mansion seems draftier with each passing year. I keep hoping I will get the house built and not have to spend another winter in it, but, it ain't happening is it? So, I did manage to get a couple of hours to spend working on it today, and I managed to pull 3 logs, 10ft long, up the hill, by hand, and then push them off of the hill, then go down there and drag them on over to the house. Now, I know that doesn't sound like much, and I suppose to a big strapping man or woman? it wouldn't be, but I am 54 and getting quite a middle age bulge to boot, and that takes a lot of my energy just carrying it around. Anyway, I don't know how long of a distance up hill it was to drag them, but to an old fat woman it seemed like a mile! Then, once down there I drilled holes into them for re-bar and stood them up and set them on the re-bar, and that probably sounds easy too, but it ain't I tell ya. I needed to make forms around them and then put some concrete in there, but, it is too cold to mix cement right now so it has to wait till the next time I work on the house, which if the Almighty is willing I will spend some time on it next week. Until then, I hope you all have a blessed weekend. Ozarkmoma
